hi, On the issue of Tongues, the epistles were writen to believers who had already been filled with the HG. that is why they are also not spoken to be baptised. But faith is on going, hope is on going, love is on going, 1 cor 13. last verse. When we are born it is a 1 time occasion. So it is with recieving the HG, it is not something given to all, if so, then why note about those who recieved the HG. By speaking in other tongues? 3 out of 5 examples clearly says they spoke in other tongues, another one eludes to that. Simon saw something that had power. It was transforming to say the least. We are transformed when we recieve the HG, not physically, not mentally, but spiritually to be brought in union with God. From that time foward we have a certain point that we began spiritually to have a relationship with God in the spirit, and not just our being. He comes in us. In the old testament, many had experience the filling of the Spirit of God, Not the Holy Ghost. Ghost is the spirit of a departed one. God can fill anyone, and let me make that clarity. The difference between filled of YHWH and the Holy Ghost. They are not the same. thanks

I see we also need to understand that repentance is a prerequisite to receiving the HG. Acts 2:38 clearly states repent, or turn away, turn around from sin. John the baptist did not do that, nor did His dad. Nor did the disciples when Christ breathed on them. Receiving the HG, by choice, is the difference between receiving the spirit of God, which is the Holy ghost, and receiving the Holy Ghost that happen in the book of acts up to today. Many people who receive the Holy Ghost a by repentance, and then choosing to allow God in them, evident to be body, soul, mind and strength , which clearly speaking in other tongues does show, are receiving Gods blessing and power on them making a union of the persons will and Gods to join together. That is why we are referenced as a bride. We have a Union when we receive the HG in such a complete way that it takes over our entire being to speak a unknown language to us, not something I can mentally do, but the control or yield is so complete Christ though us does this. So the Holy Ghost after Christ was Glorified is much different that the examples of the Holy Ghost on those who did not choose. We choose to yield, Later the disciples choose to yield and received the HG. Not just because Christ breathed on them and said receive it. He showed them what was to come. And it did. John the baptist was less than the least in the kingdom of Heaven. Speaking of a time that there are those that will be greater than John, that difference is the union of the HG and our being. So we can hear YHWH our selves, we can pray in the HG, we can do several things in the HG which John could not though he recieved the Holy Ghost. Power of God in us is transforming us, and giving us ability we dont have. it takes time and YHWH accepts us to give us time to use that power to change and have a closer relationship with him. So I reference the difference between filled with YHWH, being the HG, and the pentecostal choice to receive the HG different. It is evident in the receiving of it and in the relationship later it has. thanks...

Now can a person have the HG without speaking in other tongues, I have come to believe, yes. But the purpose of the HG in that person is different than those that receive his spirit the pentecostal way. And the the person who has the HG a way different will not have the same attributes as those that have received the HG after Christ was glorified, though the experience of having their body soul and spirit filled to the fullness. Some have only been filled with the HG in their spirit. Some in their Soul, and others have had a body experience of receiving the HG but lack having given their spirit to God, or and also their soul.
